GENERAL QUESTIONS

MIDI×FEST is a URL fest, meaning that it's held entirely online. We will be streaming it to both Twitch and YouTube. The only admission is your internet connection! Updates for the event can be found in our Discord server!

The next MIDI×FEST event will be held on November 22nd (Saturday) and November 23rd (Sunday). If there are enough artists participating, there will also be an additional day held on November 21st (Friday).

Yes, MIDI×FEST will be raising money for Advocates For Trans Equality (A4TE)! More information about this will be available when the event rolls around.

MIDI×FEST is run and organized by Asterr and Bunny Mimi! For any additional questions about the event, you can contact us through our Discord server!

EVENT PARTICIPATION

Signups for the next MIDI×FEST event end on October 29th. To sign up as a participating artist for MIDI×FEST, join the Discord and go to the event signups channel after reading the rules. You'll be able to create a ticket to apply for a slot on the event wherein you'll provide some examples of your work!

You can start working on your set as soon as youre accepted as a participating artist, but set submissions will open on October 29th when the submission form is posted for participating artists. From there you will have until November 5th at 11:59PM CST to submit it. Leeway on this deadline may be given in certain circumstances if they're communicated to organizers, but we expect sets to be submitted by that time so that details surrounding the event may be ironed out.

Signups will be open until October 29th when set submissions open or when we run out of slots for artists on all three planned days of the event. Sign up while you have the chance, it's first come first serve!

While it isn't very common that we will do so, we do reserve the right to deny anyone from participating. We have a standard for MIDI×FEST that we would like to uphold both in terms of music and morals.

Yes! We ask artists to sign up for every MIDI×FEST event, regardless of previous participation, in order to keep the rotation of artists for each event fluid enough to be able to include new names and fresh faces!

Generally speaking, everyone gets 15 minutes per set. We understand if you can't fit your set entirely into that 15 minute slot, so if it's about a minute under or over the limit that's not an issue. Headliners however, which we will pick well in advance, receive a 30 minute slot for their sets.

Whatever your heart desires as long as it's listenable and not against our rules! Your time slot is, in the most literal sense, your 15 minutes of fame to do anything you want with.

Yes, we'll take a variety of visual elements to use during your set. It could be a full video, GIFs, logos, icons, whatever you want to submit with your set's audio! We'll try to use all extra visuals submitted within reason.
